Apple has today listed 20 new Flyover locations on its iOS 9 feature availability page, five of them in the USA, the rest overseas. The latest U.S. locations are:
- Columbus, Ohio
- Louisville, Kentucky
- South Bend, Indiana
- Springfield, Missouri
- Tucson, Arizona …
The new international locations are:
- Adelaide, Australia
- Amiens, France
- Berne, Switzerland
- Bremen, Germany
- Dresden, Germany
- Eindhoven, Netherlands
- Johannesburg, South Africa
- La Rochelle, France
- Middlesbrough, UK
- Nantes, France
- Salzburg, Austria
- Taormina, Italy
- Toulouse, France
- Toyama, Japan
- Virgin Islands
This brings the worldwide total to 240 places.
It sometimes takes a little time for Flyover updates to roll out to everyone. You’ll know it’s available when you search for a location and see the Flyover bar with its Start button.

Really nice. Still nothing in central and Eastern Europe. I noticed that Apple prefer western countries. Nice! Love it!
Flyover for Brno is available for some time now
Hate to burst your bubble but Austria and Switzerland count as central europe
As does Germany
Columbus? I’ve been to Columbus a few times. There’s nothing to see. At least if they did Sandusky you’d have Cedar Point’s coasters to look at.
I lived in Springfield all through college. Absolutely no idea why they would add it as a location! The tallest building is like 10 stories and it’s a hotel….
The Leveque Tower is not “like 10 stories tall” nor is it any longer a hotel. It is 47 stories or 555 ft tall. When it was built in 1924 it was the tallest building between NY and Chicago. And at the time the 5th tallest in the world. Purposely built to be taller than the Washington Monument. I live in and love Columbus and I to was surprised to see it as a flyover option.
However for starters it is the capital of Ohio and you may think nothing is here but attempt to tell that to. The Limited Brands, Ross Laboratories, OSU home of the best damn band in the land, The Medical Center and a myriad of other outstanding collegiate and professional programs for starters. So please next time, if you don’t know, don’t post.
Middlesborough in the UK is a VERY minor city. Really odd choice!
It surprises me that there’s no flyover tour for Frankfurt am Main. In my opinion, with the skyscrapers, it is one of the few cities in Germany and Europe where a 3D Tour makes a real sense. It’s nice to see that there are Flyover Tours for Karlsruhe or Mannheim for example, but they aren’t that known for huge buildings or memorials.
Frankfurt has such a major airport it would be hard to get a flyover without pissing off air control
