SongShift is a just-released app that lets Spotify users import playlists directly into Apple Music. In the past, there have been some roundabout ways to accomplish that task, but SongShift is one of the first apps that takes advantage of a new iOS 9.3 provision that makes it possible for third-party apps to access Apple Music.
In order to take advantage of the functionality that SongShift provides, you must be an Apple Music subscriber, and the songs that you wish to import must already be available on Apple Music. You must also be running iOS 9.3 or later on your iOS device.
Once SongShift is installed, you’ll be asked to provide access to your media library. You’ll then be prompted to log in to the Spotify account containing the playlists that you wish to migrate.
A simple tap on the Begin Import button on SongShift’s main screen will take you to your list of available Spotify playlists. From there, it’s just a matter of selecting the playlist that you wish to migrate. Once the Spotify playlist is selected, you have the option of importing into an playlist, or directly into your My Music library.
If you go the playlist-to-playlist route, I recommend creating a corresponding Apple Music playlist for your destination prior to using SongShift’s import feature. Apple doesn’t allow developers to create Apple Music playlists, which means you’ll have to select a playlist that already exists in your Apple Music library. When I imported this week’s Spotify Discover Weekly playlist, all 30 songs made it over to the Music app without a hitch. The order of the songs in the playlist weren’t exactly in the order as they were listed on Spotify, but they were close. Developer Carlos Perez states that he is working to see if he can help ensure more accuracy with regard to the order that the songs are added to a playlist.
If you’re importing directly into an Apple Music playlist, then I highly recommend disabling the option to Add Playlist Songs to My Music. You can find that switch in Settings → Music. This will keep your personal music library nice and tidy by keeping the tracks you import quarantined to their respective playlists.
I’m a big fan of Spotify, especially its Discover Weekly curated playlists. But as someone deeply entrenched into the Apple-ecosystem, I feel compelled to stick with Apple Music. SongShift helps me to enjoy great Spotify playlists, like Discover Weekly, right inside of Apple Music. This even works with free Spotify accounts.
SongShift is free on the App Store, but in-app purchases can remove ads ($0.99) and unlock the the track limit for Spotify playlists containing more than 100 tracks ($1.99). If you’re looking for an easy way to move Spotify playlists over to Apple Music, then look no further.

I hope this works as not being able to import playlists in to Apple Music is one of the reasons I haven’t upgraded yet.
I wish it could import an entire library instead of just playlists, I would jump all over this in a heart beat. Also what’s the cost of going to Pro? I clicked on it and it immediately asked for my Touch ID without saying the cost.
I’d like to know this as well. I attempted to figure this out from the store page but couldn’t find anything. Couldn’t find anything on their website either. I’m hesitant to attempt to purchase pro until I know the price.

No thanks. Apple Music is an inferior product to Spotify. The discover music and playlists on Spotify are so much better then the ones Apple is dishing up.
I hate how I fire up a suggested play list on Apple Music and it plays 10 songs and then it just keeps repeating the same 10 songs over and over. With Spotify it will actually automatically pick a similar playlist and keep playing music. Apple has a lot of work to do to win me over as a fan.

unlock pro doesn’t remove the ads.. thats disappointing why have two purchases in-app purchases when you could just do one? .
a playlist of 84 was reduced to 30 despite the majority of songs being available on apple music.
this app bodes well in principle but in its current form it has been a want that remains wanting.
Mixlib will transfer your entire Library (Albums, Playlists, Tracks).
It will maximize chances of finding matching tracks by using UPC and alternate names, it will also take your market into account, if you are not in the US.
It will let you review and tweak the results before export.
It does not have an animated wave though.
Not good. Paid full version and I can’t move +100 songs from apple music to spotify without the app crashing. Plus, you still get ads on pro version. Ridiculous.
