Anyone know if these new versions support app slicing? They’re fairly hefty size installs and anything to slim them down would be appreciated.
Also, as an aside, why do they not support background app refresh yet?
Based on speed of downloads on my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 yes it supports app slicing. Used 80 Mbs wifi to update apps on both devicesand iPhone is downloading faster, not much, but it is faster, the only exception is Key items it was slowest on both devices.
How is it that Microsoft updates Word and the other office apps on Septer 18th to support split view and a month later Apple is just adding it?
Does Apple really have that much of shortage of software engineers? They all busy fixing the Music app?
Perhaps there are more features listed than split view
I don’t even understand what it means by the apps now supporting split view. You’ve been able to put them side by side in split view with any other app for as long as El Cap has been out. Even during the betas before its release.
@Dillon Baio Not all of them. Several of my apps got really glitchy or refused to do split view.
In iOS
@taoprophet420, no, it says “Multitask while editing using new Split View in El Capitan” in the update notes for the OS X apps.
I didn’t know there was a contest to see who can update their apps first. If there was, wouldn’t Microsoft still lose since they were working with Apple to fix Office bugs and still didn’t get them fixed.
OMG, Amazing, split screen! It’s so much more useful than document merge and every other feature that’s missing in the new software.
Eh, still no support for two pages view in OS X version of Pages and adding captions for pictures is still annoyingly hard.
In Microsoft Word or Libreoffice Writer it is easy, you simply right click on the image and “Insert Caption…”, enter text, click OK. Meanwhile in pages
Insert > Text Box. In the Wrap Inspector, set to Floating. Enter text. Adjust position. Select both photo and Text Box, then Arrange > Group and if you want the numbered captions all becomes even more complicated… Am I missing something?
still no master slide creation or edit in keynote ios – what is wrong with apple software engineers – renders the IPad pro useless
