[UPDATE: Full collection of all 27 ‘Apps for Earth’ here.]
Earth Day is just over a week away and it appears Apple plans to highlight it this year with a campaign to raise money for the World Wide Fund for Nature. WWF and Apple teamed up this time last year on an environmental initiative in China, and this year it’s an App Store campaign that brings to two groups and developers together. Several iOS apps have updated today to highlight money from app sales and in-app purchases going toward WWF through April 24th. The App Store will likely update later today to feature these apps, but we’ve collected apps we’ve found so far below:
- Enlight ($3.99)
- Procreate ($5.99)
- Procreate Pocket ($2.99)
- Ultimate Guitar ($2.99)
- Trivia Crack ($2.99/Free)
- Yoga Studio ($3.99)
- VSCO (Free)
- WWF Together (Free)
Each participating app features a modified icon to signal working with Apple and WWF, and both app update change logs and main app descriptions highlight the campaign. Proceeds from paid apps involved from today through April 24th will go to WWF, and free apps participating have created special in-app purchases as well.
Here’s VSCO’s description, for example:
VSCO, Apple & WWF are working together to protect life on our planet. The new, limited edition WWF preset subtly enhances natural settings, and is ideal for landscapes & wildlife. The preset is available for purchase in the VSCO app, and from now until April 24, WWF will receive 100% of the proceeds from your purchase.

In addition to the App Store campaign, Apple has teamed up with the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation to create Earth Day lessons for students on iPad.
Learning about the environment is the first step to preserving it. We’ve partnered with the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation to create Earth Day lessons on iPad to help students explore, understand, and celebrate the world around them.
Six lessons are currently featured with resources including iBooks and App Store apps to enhance the educational experience.
Lessons include:
- Conservation: World Water Monitoring Challenge
- Ecosystem: Secondary Succession
- Ecology: Wildlife Population Distribution
- Conservation: Climate Change
- Ecosystems: Keystone Species
- Ecology: Backyard Bioblitz
You can explore all of the Earth Day Lessons here.

As is HayDay from Supercell
Apple cheats for billions in tax and wants to raise a little money for world wild life – what a joke. How about not cheating for billions
What are you even talking about. Apple is raising money for Tigers, Rhinos and Polar Bears, they are not raising money for IRS.
Irrelevant post.
Also, I’d love to give my money to the Polar Bears rather than IRS. They are cute AF.
