Ahead of today’s WWDC keynote, there were a lot of features that had already been reported on. One surprise that showed up as part of iOS 18 was Game Mode, a special mode that optimizes your device for gaming sessions.

One of the new features of iOS 18, which was announced by Apple on Monday, is a customizable and redesigned Control Center with multiple pages. For instance, to call John you’d press 5 6 4 (for J O H). On many Samsung and other Android phones, this would search for the closest alphabetical match to a person’s name in your contacts. iPhone has not had this feature … until now with iOS 18.

iOS 18 includes a swathe of new Apple Intelligence features, as well as integration with ChatGPT for things like image generation and writing assistance. Users can optionally pass off their Siri requests to ChatGPT, for example.
