New features: Home app, audio sharing, multiple user support for Apple Arcade

At WWDC 2020, Apple has unveiled tvOS 14, Apple has added the Home app to Apple TV in an implementation called “Home View”. This brings HomeKit integration and features as camera feeds directly to your Apple TV experience and more. With Home View, you’ll get a picture-in-picture alert for people arriving at your house that are recognized by your HomeKit cameras.

Home View also includes the option to quickly see your favorite cameras, access your automation scenes, and more.

tvOS 14 also adds support for multiple users for Apple Arcade games. This  feature will allow users to pick up with their game progress right where they left off. There’s also expanded Xbox controller support with tvOS 14 so the Apple TV works with Xbox Elite 2 and Xbox Adaptive controllers.

tvOS also adds audio sharing to Apple TV and picture-picture-support is now available “across the entire Apple TV experience.”

AirPlay also gets an improvement with tvOS 14 so that 4K videos from iOS and iPadOS are shown in their full quality on Apple TV and can be done in picture in picture windows.

Other new related new features include doorbell announcements on HomePod, a redesigned Home app for iOS and iPadOS, activity zones and facial recognition for HomeKit Secure Video-enabled cameras, and more.

Users can now create Shortcuts to switch accounts on Apple TV with iOS 14 and tvOS 14

Apple announced some great new features for the Shortcuts app with iOS 14, including new trigger types, an Apple Watch app, and a redesigned interface for the iPad. Today, with the sixth beta release of iOS 14, Apple has added a new option in the Shortcuts app that allows Apple TV users to easily switch accounts on tvOS 14.
