MacBook Pro late 2008 black [concept, mockup]
Hello and welcome to the latest MockBook Pro, it's a mock-up, but a nice concept - check those smooth curves, the thin and lightweight construction.
Oh, and did you notice the glass trackpad and lack of mouse button? This mockup might be more feature complete than any others we've seen. Is that a 16:9 ratio 14.1 inch screen?

nice too bad its a mockup
The person tried to include the "glass trackpad" (based on the reflection on the trackpad area) ;)
i think it'll have 3 legs and double as a coffee table. wanna write an article about my idea?
You are a prick man, ease up. I personally enjoy seeing these mockups. and not only that, maybe Apple likes seeing them too? Maybe this guy gets offered a good job designing at Apple? 9 to 5 is not only just doing a good thing for someone, but they are sharing their interesting finds. It's their blog, not yours. If you don't like it, too bad.
Hm, it look so similar to another computer that I'm sure I've seen before someplace... I just can't quite put my finger on it.
That's the MacBook Air in black... though it's a good photoshop.
cool concept but apple just usually does not do its pro models in black aka mac pro, macbook pro, power book, etc.

wow thanks, i never knew you could do that.
Actually the used to, just haven't since they switched to the metals (titanium, aluminum, etc.). Remember the PowerBook G3?
ya I actually did. I just did not want to post wrong info in my comments because I was not quite sure. But however that was 8-10 years ago depending on the model, source: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2287 that would be the equivelant of saying HPs used to be made of ugly beige plastic, maybe they will go back to making them that way. Now to think about lenevo needs a new designer.
DELICIOUS!
I don't really like the thick edges around the screen, I don't like it in the MacBook Air, so I surtainly won't like it in my new MBP...but it's a nice mockup :)
I thought that apple was over shiny plastic and was using aluminum
Its gorgeus, i'm planning on buying one when it comes out and i hope it looks atleast as beautiful as this. I'm still not sure about the whole missing mouse button thing.
Knowing apple it will be even better looking that this
damn, no tappering please, it looks ugly and sits really bad on your lap/belly when laying on your back
I dont think they'll go with the black frame unless made smaller. It looks like a HP laptop.
I think the new MacBook Pro will be very different to the "inside the box" thinking of today. It ties in with Steve's comments earlier this year, and with all the rumors that's been going round. Here's what I would like (to see):
A real "book", that has the ability to open up flat. On both sides, a full glass trackpad/screen. So you can use the MacBook in the traditional way, with a keyboard appearing under the trackpad on the horizontal pane, and the display on the vertical. Or you could turn it sideways, like a book, to read documents. And flip pages, using gestures. Or you can flatten it, and combine the screens to do a little Photoshop work. The possibilities are endless.
It'll be the tablet people wanted. And the MacBook that's difficult to catch up with. And the dawn of a new interface. All rolled into one, and difficult to catch up with...
It looks nice, but tapered design on the MBP is useless with all the connectors.
And please god no black plastic topcase. I already hate the ugly grey plastic edge the MBP has now. Just no more plastic edges and other crap.
And no mouse button? Not to sure about that. I do hope they make it stronger the MBP's warp to easily. And light would be great too.
You know what I'm just gonna wait and see what they come up with.
Nice concpet.
Just so long ads it's SATIN black not piano-finish glossy.
I've noticed PC makers all go for super glossy, and even the dang keys are difficult to make out due to reflections!
agreed. Also smudges. The keyboard even got smudges on my old hp dv2000 something I am surprised to say does not happen with my macbook.
I see no reason to use glass for the "touchpad". The only reason to make it out of glass is if it were to contain a screen. Otherwise a gesture sensitive pad could be made out of... plastic.
I love my 17" MBP. 16:9 aspect ratio doesn't bother me as long as its 1920x1080 or larger. But, no no no no no no getting rid of the 17".

As long as there is a version in the 12 inch or smaller footprint. Light weight is all well and good but the current size of the MBA is bigger than what I want to take to school every day so 14+ inches would be even less appealing to me.
