If you want to upgrade your iPhone without the hassle of going to a store, Sprint will soon bring the phone to you and set up the phone there. The company’s free Direct 2 You service has launched in Sprint’s hometown of Kansas, comes to Miami and Chicago next week and will be rolling out to other cities later, with a total of 5,000 cars expected to be in service by the end of the year.

When our customers are ready for a new phone, we’ll come to them. Virtually, wherever they want. At their home, at their office, in a coffee shop or even a park. And this is about much more than delivering a phone. We are sending a Sprint expert who will make the entire experience convenient and easy.

Sprint says that qualified customers will be offered the service via text or email when they are due an upgrade, and will then be able to call the number given to arrange an appointment. The representative will help with setup and assistance during the visit, offering the same service you’d get in-store …  expand full story

As we’ve noted on a few occasions, Sprint pre-paid subsidiaryBoost Mobile is now carrying the iPhone for the first time in its history. Launching today, the iPhone 5s and 5c are $100 off of Apple’s retail price if ordered online. However, Boost is running a special promotion until November 24th where you get an additional $100 off if you switch in store from another carrier. I confirmed the deal with a PR rep who said:

Yes. Now through Nov. 24 new customers who come into a participating Boost Mobile store and switch to Boost Mobile from another carrier will be eligible for a special in-store promotion of $100 off any device bringing new customers  additional cost savings.  The link below will help consumers find participating stores in their area that are selling iPhone.

Along with US Cellular who announced on Friday, Boost Mobile will now also offer the iPhone 5s and 5c on November 8th according to short press release this morning (below).

Boost is a Sprint Co. pre-paid sister site of Virgin, which also announced iPhone 5s and 5c availability last month with $100 off retail pricing and $30/month plans. Boost Mobile iPhone media (above) was leaked last month.

Nine other regional carriers have announced iPhone 5s/5c availability on November 1st.  expand full story

We knew Virgin Mobile was launching the iPhone 5s and 5c today, but we weren’t expecting a $100-off starting price. That’s what’s on offer today from the Sprint subsidiary (Sprint will also knock off $100 the subsidized plans if you are a new customer – so much for loyalty benefits).

Virgin’s plans are the least expensive out there, especially considering they include unlimited data and start at $30/month.
