Timed cleverly with the launch of OS X El Capitan, the popular RSS client Reeder is officially out with version 3.0 today with full support for OS X 10.11. As we first saw in Reeder 3’s public beta, the latest version of the feed reader includes a selection of Yosemite and El Capitan style themes with translucency and modern design.
OS X El Capitan users will benefit from new features including using Reeder in split-screen mode next to other supported full-screen apps. The new version also supports Apple’s new system font, San Francisco, plus a lot of customization options to make the reading environment best fit your needs. Check out the full release notes below:

Thanks for the free upgrade from to 1 to 2! Version 3 seems disappointing though.. I was expecting a $39.99 price tag. /s
Does it support ad blockers in the web view?
I don’t believe it does. There’s an option for “Private Browsing” in Reeder 3’s Preferences (under Reading) but no, ads are not blocked. I’m not sure if there’s such a thing as Safari View Controller (the method in which in-app browser in iOS 9 supports content-blocking) on the Mac. Besides, the in-app browser in Reeder is quite bad (I love Reeder, it’s fast and responsive everywhere else but the in-app browser)- it doesn’t scroll as smoothly as Safari and feels too clunky. My advice is to enable “Open Link in default browser/Safari” in Reeder 3 Preferences.
Great, now how about updating Reeder for iPhone? It really needs the content blocking webview.
