iOS 10 and macOS Sierra public betas
The Apple Beta Software Program allows Apple device users to try out upcoming releases of the company’s iOS operating system for iPhone, iPad, and iPods, and the macOS operating system for Macs.
Apple’s latest public beta for the program is scheduled for launch July 7, 2016 for upcoming iOS 10 and macOS Sierra releases set for public release this fall.
The company released its first beta version of iOS 10 and macOS Sierra 10.12 to developers through its separate Apple Developer Program following an unveiling at its WWDC 2016 developer conference in June, 2016. It followed that up with iOS 10 Beta 2 and macOS Sierra Beta 2 released to developers on July 5, 2016.

iOS 10
- Make a back-up.
- Download Apple’s configuration profile from beta.apple.com/profile.
- You’ll be taken automatically to update to the iOS 10 beta in Settings (Settings > General > Software Update).
- Follow on-screen instructions and agree to Apple’s terms and conditions to start the installation.
macOS Sierra
- Make a back-up.
- Download Apple’s Public Beta Access Utility.
- Download the public beta from the Mac App Store under the “Updates” pane.
