Mujjo has been making high-quality iPhone cases for ten years and they’ve been a perennial favorite for many of us at 9to5Mac. But with MagSafe on modern iPhones, does it make sense to pick up a wallet case without magnets? Read on for a closer look at the Mujjo iPhone 13 Leather Wallet Case and why it still offers a compelling experience.
I’m not exactly a fan of using my iPhone with a case, especially with the stunning new iPhone 12 design. Even so, I still like to have some cases around — either to protect my iPhone in some situations or to change its style from time to time. I’ve been using the Mujjo leather case with my iPhone 12 Pro Max for the last month, and it has proven to be a great alternative to Apple’s MagSafe leather cases.
Taking delivery of my shiny new 2016 MacBook Pro also meant I needed a new case to protect it from getting scratched or marked. I frequently carry it inside a bicycle bag, where London’s pot-holed roads would mean it bouncing around a little, and it also travels with my in my hand-baggage when I fly.
I’ve previously used TwelveSouth’s BookBook cases. These offer a high degree of protection in an admittedly slightly bulky form, but the company doesn’t yet have versions for the latest MacBook Pro. I also have Burkley’s hardshell leather case on my MacBook Air.
Mujjo – whose wallet case I loved on my iPhone 6 – announced a new felt and leather sleeve for the latest MacBook Pro, so I decided to put this to the test. It’s available for both 13-inch and 15-inch models, and is also suitable for the previous Retina machines …
For the first few months after purchasing my iPhone 6, I was a daily Apple Leather Case user. I picked up the case more out of convenience than desire, but I never truly felt it served my needs. The case felt weak, unsupportive, and more like a leather-wrap than a protective case. I’ve kept an eye out for other potential alternative leather cases, but could never find one I really loved. The Apple Leather Case seemed so close to what I would have wanted, but the way it wore down was just not appealing to me at all. A lot of other leather cases are too bulky, have a built-in wallet, or are just utterly expensive. Then Mujjo released their Leather Case for the iPhone 6(s). As soon as I laid my eyes on it, I knew I wanted it. It looked strong without adding bulk, sported a beautiful tanned leather, and was priced fairly in comparison to competing cases.
I prefer leather, wallet-style iPhone cases, and if you’re reading this you’re likely on the hunt for one as well. I’ve had a lot of cases arriving for review this time of the year following the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch, so below I’ve put together my thoughts on the best leather wallet cases around (and in some cases vegan leather), to guide you through your purchase and show you some of my favorites after going hands-on. Despite smartphones and tablets being commonplace these days for just about everybody and their grandmother, most non-techies that you run into probably don’t own a pair of touchscreen gloves. That is, winter gloves that don’t require you to take them off to use your iPhone, iPod or iPad. I’ve tried out a couple cheap pairs in recent years from Amazon and elsewhere, but they’ve never really been warm and/or well-made enough to use on a daily basis.
This year I’ve been trying out a few of the more expensive pairs available from one of the original companies making touchscreen gloves, Mujjo. I’ve put a couple different pairs from Mujjo to the test over the past month during a cold Canadian winter to see if they’re really worth the extra cash. Expand Expanding Close
