Deep iPad discounts at Staples and Target: $199 16GB Minis ($100 off), Airs $130 off AC(starting at $369)

Site default logo image

From 9to5Toys.com:

Confirming our report from earlier this month, Target has revived its $199 iPad mini sale (Direct Link) this morning. At the time of posting it’s available both online at Target.com and at Target retail locations. That’s even $30 less than the retail price of top Android tablets Nexus 7 or Kindle HDX.

We’ve been told by a Target rep that quantities are limited and as such we highly recommend picking one up today. This deal is $100 better than retail and $20 less than Apple charges for a refurbished model. The non-Retina iPad mini features a 7.9-inch LED-backlit display, 10-hour battery life, and dual-core A5 chip.

Seperately, Staples is offering all WiFi-enabled iPad Airs (Space Gray or Silver) for $30 off (Direct link). Coupon code 79449 drops them another $100 yielding $369/$469/$569 on 16/32/64GB Wifi models.

As we’ve said before, these deals often sell out quick so if you are going to make a move, do so quickly.

Also, Apple is widely expected to update its iPads again in October but these prices are at or below what we expect current models to drop to so you are getting Apple’s holiday prices today.

PSA: You can now get a new iPad mini at Best Buy for $199.99 shipped ($100 off)

From 9to5Toys.com

Update: Best Buy only offers in-store pickup now.

These things usually go out of stock quickly so you might want to jump all over it, especially with Father’s Day coming up.

Target began the $199 price drop over the weekend but quickly ran out of shippable inventory. They are still available at physical Target and Best Buy stores when this inventory runs out.

This of course isn’t a Retina display model but at a price below the retail price of a Nexus 7 or an Amazon Kindle Fire, who’s complaining?

Looking for a deal on a full-size iPad? Altatac (Top Rated Plus seller) via eBay Daily Deals has a 16GB WiFi model for $399.99 shipped (Reg. $499)

Target offering $25 gift card with new iPads, $20 on iPhones. Best Buy has everything Apple on sale.

We have seen a lot of third-gen iPad deals recently in 9to5Toys offering the entry-level 16GB model, for instance, in the neighborhood of $460 to $470, approximately $30 to $40 off the normal retail price. Those deals usually go quick, but one big retailer plans to offer a similar deal this coming week. Starting July 15, Target will offer a free $25 gift card with the purchase of any iPad 2 or new iPad. The deal will last all week until July 21, and, as always, Target REDCard users can get an additional 5 percent knocked off their purchase, giving the iPad 2 an effective price of $355. New iPads will start at $450 with the discounts. Find a location with stock here.

Target will advertise the deal in its flyer this weekend, we are told, which features a number of Apple products on its cover (pictured above). Other deals include the 16GB iPhone 4S discounted slightly to $179, a free $20 gift card for the 8GB iPod touch priced at $195, and a free $10 gift card for the 8GB iPod nano at $129.

Additionally, this week Best Buy knocks a few bucks off of just about every Apple product in its catalog.

Best Buy & Sam’s Club now offer iPhone 4 for $50 on contract

Best Buy this week began offering the 8GB iPhone 4 for $49.99 on the usual two-year contract through Sprint, Verizon, or AT&T— just like Target, many regional carriers, and other retailers following the trend. That is $50 off Apple and many other retailers’ $99 price tag. Unlike some of the other offers, it does not appear to be an in-store only deal, because free shipping is included. The offer is listed as valid between “5/11/12-6/30/12” and is available through BestBuy’s website now. However, some models are currently listed as “not available for shipping.”

As noted by a reader in Phoenix, AZ, at least some Sam’s Club locations appear to be offering the Verizon iPhone for $48.

Target says it will launch upscale Apple shops in 25 of its discount stores

Site default logo image

Retailer Target will soon start offering Apple products in select discount stores that carry everything from dog food to electronics.

Reuters reported that Minnesota-headquartered retailer Target confirmed plans to dedicate a special section to Apple products within 25 of its discount stores across the United States:

Target also confirmed during a presentation on Thursday that it will have 25 stores featuring special displays of Apple Inc (AAPL.O) merchandise, a move that had been speculated about last week.

The move is part of a broad initiative to provide upscale shopping experience for high-end brands. Select Target stores have been carrying iPhones, iPods and iPads and selling accessories for a while now, but not Mac systems. By promoting in boutiques stores-within-a-store, Apple’s mobile and desktop products should be able to stand out from the rest of Target’s low-end offerings. Thus far, Apple ministores could be found at select Best Buy stores.

As you know, both the Target Corporation and Apple drew from the expertise of a merchandising wizard who made beautiful design a natural part of the shopping experience…
