Apple introduced a brand new interface to its Photos app with iOS 18, which for years had looked pretty much the same. Unsurprisingly, while some users liked the update, others are still reluctant to approve the new app. But there was one very annoying aspect of the new Photos app that Apple is finally fixing with iOS 18.2.

We’re already in the iPhone 16 era, but taking a look at old Apple prototypes is always interesting as we can see details that the company scrapped during the development process. Now a rare iPhone 14 Pro prototype gives us a closer look at what the rumored haptic volume button might look like.

Apple released iOS 18.2 beta 3 to developers today. It’s not as dramatic of an update as the first two betas, but there are a couple of changes worth pointing out.

iOS 18.2 beta 3 adds another new toggle for personalizing the iPhone 16’s Camera Control. Now, you can open the Camera app with a single press of the Camera Control even if your display is off.

Last week, a report from 404 Media highlighted concerns from law enforcement officials about iPhones automatically rebooting themselves.

While law enforcement officials had erroneously speculated that iPhones were secretly communicating with each other to reboot, that’s not actually the case. Instead, Apple added a new security feature in iOS 18.1 that forces iPhones to reboot after a period of inactivity.

Apple Music picked its 100 Best Albums earlier this year. But it seems the digital celebration was only part of the story. Apple Music has announced that it’s publishing a new hardcover book to commemorate the album list. Here’s the kicker: it will set you back $450.

Apple released iPadOS 18.2 beta 3 today, and the update introduces a nice addition for TV app users. The Apple TV app now offers a customizable tab bar, slowly expanding the number of apps with this power user feature.
