Apple says software update to fix iPhone 18 Pro rebooting bug is coming next week

On Monday, we reported on an issue where iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max users were seeing their phone freeze and reboot following a failed Face ID attempt. To us, it appeared to be a software glitch rather than an inherent hardware fault.

Apple has now confirmed to 9to5Mac that a software update to address this problem is in the works, and should be available early next week.

tvOS 27.2 adds new HomePod surround sound feature to Apple TV 4K [U]

Apple TV users have long been able to set HomePods as speakers for audio output. But tvOS 27.2 looks poised to offer a big upgrade, with HomePod surround sound now available in the beta.

Update: Following publication, leaker pdfu posted on X that the feature referenced below is in tvOS 27.0 and isn’t actually for surround sound yet, despite additional evidence of the feature in 27.2 code. Original article below.
