Last month Instagram launched a new video shooting app for iPhone and iPad that combines effects like time-lapse and cinema stabilization called Hyperlapse. Today Instagram is introducing what they call the “selfielapse” by adding support for shooting Hyperlapse videos with the front facing camera on your device using the same features previously only available on the back camera…
While iOS 8 brought a new feature native to the Camera app called Time-lapse (we’ve featured several examples shot on the iPhone 6 as well as our own test), Instagram’s Hyperlapse app combines an advanced stabilization effect with more granular controls, and it’s still extremely easy and simple.
The update also delivers optimized support for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus phones so the app no longer scales in a zoomed mode and those share sheets aren’t gigantic.
Below is an example of a video shot with Hyperlapse and featured by Instagram.
Hyperlapse 1.1 is available now for iPhone and iPad on the App Store.

Any idea on how to access the videos that you’ve selected to “Edit Later”? I have 8 basically saved as drafts but it looks like I have to export the most recent video before being able to see the next one.
