St. Louis Apple Store employees explain U-turn on unionization effort

Apple employees at the St. Louis Galleria store were the latest to move toward unionization last month. However, one week after submitting interest to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the group abandoned the plan. An initial announcement from the IAM cited “increased hostility” from Apple as the reason for the U-turn, however, now the Apple employees themselves have spoken up about why the majority changed their minds.

Apple News+ readership reportedly on the decline for top magazine publishers

Apple News+ readership is reportedly on the decline for many of the top magazine publications. According to data obtained by Press Gazette. The data suggests that the top 25 magazines on Apple News+ reached a combined circulation of just over 1.3 million in the first half of 2022, which is up compared to the first half of 2021 but down compared to the second half of 2021.

Report: Apple advances plans to diversify supply chain outside of China

Foxconn smartphone revenue dropped 15% in Q2

The Wall Street Journal this weekend reported that Apple has recently ‘accelerated’ plans to expand production outside of China. Primary iPhone assembly facilities have been repeatedly disrupted by China’s strict COVID-19 policy, coming to a fore most notably in November with mass worker protests.

The report says the main locations of interest for expansion are India and Vietnam, regions where Apple already has sizeable production bases with its supply chain partners.

Apple opens new retail store in massive American Dream mall – except on Sundays

Apple on Monday confirmed that it will soon open a new retail store in the huge American Dream shopping mall and entertainment complex in New Jersey. The store is expected to have the same design as the latest Apple Retail Stores and will open to the public later this week, starting December 3.

Update: The new store is now open to the public and located in Court D, Level 2 of American Dream.
