Apple’s bid to dismiss a class action lawsuit over AirTag stalking has failed. As reported by Bloomberg, a judge in California on Friday ruled that the plaintiffs in the lawsuit have “made sufficient claims for negligence and product liability.”

“With a price point of just $29 it has become the weapon of choice of stalkers and abusers,” the lawsuit alleges.

Update: Best Buy has now one-upped Walmart and is now selling the M1 MacBook Air at $649.

Walmart is teaming up with Apple to sell the Mac for the first time. In a press release today, the company said that it is now selling the base model M1 MacBook Air online and in select stores for $699. The move comes a week after Apple introduced the new M3 MacBook Air and stopped selling the M1 MacBook Air itself.

iOS 17.4 has been out in the wild for a few days, and something I’ll never get used to with Apple is that it brings some new features for a mid-cycle release. For IT managers who manage Apple fleets, several new features are worth paying attention to. Let’s dive into what’s new with iOS 17.4 for the enteprise.

Apple has launched a new way for people to browse the App Store for Apple Vision Pro. Starting today, the App Store for visionOS is now available on the web, including curated collections, stories, and more.

Vision Pro is Apple’s mixed reality headset. Launched at prices starting at $3,499, Apple Vision Pro has been widely praised for its technologies, but at the same time criticized for its lack of apps and high price. To Hugo Barra, former vice president of Android and head of Oculus at Meta, Apple’s headset is an “over-engineered devkit.”

I’ve been a big proponent of HomeKit cameras built into flood lights as they eliminate the need to get an additional wire or rely on batteries. Apple has been forced by the EU to allow app purchases and installs without the App Store. The effort to enable the capabilities as securely as possible has been massive. Apple has acquired DarwinAI, an artificial intelligence startup focused on making AI systems smaller and faster, according to a new report from Bloomberg. Apple has added dozens of DarwinAI employees to its own AI team following the acquisition earlier this year.
