MacBook Neo rival launched at $599; Nvidia PC chip takes on Apple Silicon

MacBook Neo rival launched at $599 | Photo shows Dell XPS 13

It was clear that the launch of the MacBook Neo at just $599 took most Windows PC makers by surprise. However, Dell appears to have had a strong suspicion of what was coming as the company has just launched its own direct competitor, (sort of) starting at the same price.

Apple also has a new rival when it comes to Apple Silicon. Nvidia has just announced its first ever PC chip which also aims to provide a similar leap forward in performance …

This is the first quarterly threat landscape review in the Security Bite series. And the first quarter of this year was pretty quiet on the iPhone front. When it comes to the walled fortress of iOS, no news is basically good news. So, in this Q1 review, I’m going to specifically be going over the Mac malware landscape and what it looks like, and where things seem to be heading.

I’ll look back on every report I covered, every guest I had on the Security Bite Podcast, and most of the samples that crossed my desk over the past three(ish) months.

Apple AI glasses launch pushed back to late 2027, Vision Air to arrive by 2029: report

Apple Glasses

Apple has been working on AI smart glasses for a little while, both to compete against Meta Ray-Bans and to provide a hardware platform for Siri and its Visual Intelligence features. While they were originally set to be announced at the end of this year and debut early next year, that’s now been delayed, with a launch now set to take place by the end of 2027, per Bloomberg.

On the flip side of things, a cheaper and lighter version of Apple Vision Pro, dubbed Vision Air, may arrive as soon as 2028, potentially 2029.

Here’s how Incogni helps you protect your family from scams and spam

Incogni protects the personal data of you and your family | Graphic shows a pair of binoculars looking at a person plus the Incogni logo

We manage huge chunks of our life online these days, which means there is a mass of personal data entrusted to a range of different companies. Even things as seemingly innocuous as our hobbies and interests can be valuable data when it comes to those who want to try to sell us things or – worse – to scam us.
