A week after updating App Store Connect for iOS with a new interface, Apple has now released an update for the Apple Developer app for iPhone and iPad. The new version brings support for the dark and tinted icon in iOS 18, as well as some other improvements.

Apple released iOS 18.1.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 with important security fixes. In an update to its security website, Apple has further detailed these vulnerabilities and says that they may have been actively exploited in the wild.

Apple Card has expanded its Daily Cash scheme to include two new partners. Apple Card customers can now get 3% Daily Cash back when they book prepaid car rentals or holidays stays with Booking.com, or charge their vehicle at qualifying ChargePoint stations.
Purchases of home electric ChargePoint chargers will also qualify for the boosted 3% cashback rate. Additionally, Booking.com will give 2% in travel credits for eligible hotel stays and rental cars (more details here).

Last week, analyst Ross Young revealed that the new M4 MacBook Pro is the first Apple device to use new quantum dot display technology.
In a follow up blog post, he says that this same technology will also make its way to the next-generation Pro Display XDR. Young also offered a timeline in a message to 9to5Mac, saying there are a no concrete plans but the current expectation for a next-gen Pro Display XDR is late 2025 or early 2026.

Apple recently launched new MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini with the M4 chip, which brings a lot of performance improvements – especially when it comes to AI tasks. However, users are facing issues when trying to run virtual machines with some older versions of macOS on the new machines.

A recent report by 404 Media revealed that law enforcement agents have been concerned about iPhones automatically rebooting themselves, which makes it very difficult to hack these devices. Security researcher Jiska Classen later discovered that this behavior is caused by a new feature called “Inactivity Reboot,” which has now been reverse-engineered by Classen.

Apple is rolling out the latest developer betas for visionOS 2.2 and tvOS 18.2. Beta 3 arrives not long after last week’s beta 2 releases, and brings the latest refinements to these upcoming software updates.
Update 11/18/24: Apple has now released the public beta for tvOS 18.2 too, just hours after the developer beta debuted. visionOS does not offer a public beta.
