Super Mario Run is a new mobile game, published by Nintendo, for iPhone and iPad devices coming December 15. The game is a simplified version of a classic Nintendo platformer where the user can play the game one-handed.

Mario runs across the screen automatically and the user taps the screen to jump at the appropriate times to navigate between platforms, avoid obstacles, bounce on enemies and collect coins.

The game can be downloaded for free with a one-time $9.99 In-App Purchase to unlock all levels. Download Super Mario now from the App Store; available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Around 3% of downloaders of Super Mario Run paid the $10 to gain full access, says research company

When Nintendo chose to release its first Super Mario title for iOS as a ‘free to play, one-time fee to gain full access’ game, the big question was how many players would hand over the $10 to unlock the app. Research firm Newzoo thinks it has the answer, estimating conversion at 3%, reports the WSJ.

Super Mario Run sets new App Store record, 40 million downloads in four days

Super Mario Run launched last week with much anticipation, as Nintendo’s first real entrance into the iOS gaming market. Today, Apple and Nintendo have announced that the game has set a new App Store record with more than 40 million downloads in four days. The game continues to rank #1 for Top Free and Top Grossing in the App Store.

Super Mario Run saw 10M downloads, $4M revenue, on day one – but likely won’t beat Pokémon Go

We learned last week that Nintendo’s Super Mario Run became the highest grossing app within hours of release, and analytics company App Annie has now put some numbers on this. The company reports that it notched up over 10M downloads and generated more than $4M revenue on its first day.

Given its visibility, it should come as no surprise that it became the top ranked game by downloads across 60 countries immediately after launch. Based on preliminary estimates, this includes over 10 million downloads and over $4 million in consumer spend worldwide on December 15.

The firm says that it will be particularly interesting to compare the performance of the game against Pokémon Go, given the two different revenue models …

The first ever Mario game for iPhone has launched to much fanfare from Nintendo and Apple. Download Super Mario Run from the App Store now, on any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 8, iOS 9 or iOS 10.

Super Mario Run is a one button 2D platformer. Mario automatically runs through the level, players press the screen to make him jump onto ledges, avoid enemies and collect coins.

Apple announces ‘Super Mario Run’ coming to iPhone App Store

Apple has announced that Super Mario is coming to the iPhone, as part of its iPhone 7 event. The company brought Shigeru Minamoto on stage to announce Apple bringing Nintendo’s top franchise to the iPhone.

Get the new Mario game app later this year in December, but you can go to the App Store today and get it to “Notify” you when the app launches. The game will have some free trial content and one in-app purchase to unlock everything.
