MagSafe charging has quickly become one of my favorite features added to the iPhone in the past few years. I’ve used countless chargers, docks, and car mounts since MagSafe was added to the iPhone 12 lineup. One of my recent additions to my desk was the ESR HaloLock 2-in-1 charger with CryoBoost. It’s a great option for charging your iPhone via MagSafe while keeping it cool. It also includes a great AirPods charger as well.

The iPad is a fantastic device for education. It’s intuitive, easy to use, and has plenty of apps that make teaching easier. But one thing that has held the iPad back in the classroom is the juggling of multiple accounts for multiple apps. Now, however, Apple is addressing this issue by allowing Managed Apple IDs to use “Sign in with Apple.” This new authentication method will give teachers control over how their students use iPads in class without having to worry about creating new accounts every time they want to use a new app in the classroom.

I’ve had it in place for a few weeks, and it’s quickly become my favorite HomeKit-enabled air purifier.

This week, let’s examine why companies deploy remote access on macOS and some available options.
A few weeks ago, Eve announced the brand-new Eve Aqua with Thread. While Thread alone is a welcome upgrade for a device that is going to be farther away from Wi-Fi than most other HomeKit devices, it also received a nice overall build upgrade that is worth an upgrade if you’re an owner of the previous model.

If you watch any movie that involves hacking or cyber crime, you’ll likely see the root of the breach as a result of some accessory plugged into a computer. Apple certainly doesn’t want macOS to be at the center of a real-life breach, so accessory management is getting an overhaul in macOS Ventura. Let’s look at macOS accessory security, and how Apple is implementing it for its device management partners.
I am a HomeKit veteran at this point; I’ve used just about every product that has HomeKit support that I can try without major installation (rewiring electrical outlets, changing out light switches, etc). I think it’s time for Apple to buy HOOBS and officially welcome Homebridge into the fold of HomeKit.

Picking your favorite Mac is problematic because, ideally, every Mac you bought should be better than your last one. Choosing your favorite Mac is looking at how well it met your needs at the time and how long it was able to meet them. After nearly two years of use, the M1 MacBook Air might be my favorite Apple product of all time. With the M2 MacBook Air’s release, I want to examine why Apple is still selling the M1 MacBook Air, and why the best laptop for business customers might not be the latest model.

As organizations continue to move away from Active Directory as the single login system, having a solution like 1Password or LastPass is critical – even if a single sign on solution like Okta is deployed.

When I was younger and had fewer responsibilities, I played games all the time. Gaming was my top hobby, starting with the original NES through the original Xbox. I even worked at EBGames during college as well. When I started a family, I had to trim up my hobbies, and sadly, I stopped playing games. As my kids have gotten older, I have a little more time on my hands – but not enough to want to invest in a game system. I’ve dabbled with Stadia, but it’s limited on games. I’ve recently played a few games on Xbox Cloud Gaming, and the RiotPWR controller turns the iPhone into a great mobile gaming device. Let’s look at how to enjoy Xbox Cloud Gaming on iPhone.

I recently discussed Apple’s Endpoint Security API and praised it as a well-designed security implementation that allowed IT to have a stable fleet of devices while end-users have a great experience. This week, I wanted to highlight one of the most significant sources of “malware” on macOS and how to resolve it. Let’s talk about the growing problem of Chrome malware from extensions that create user confusion, cause security risks, and more.
