Earlier this year, The Verge revealed renders of Sonos’s next new product – a wireless subwoofer named “Sub Mini.” A few weeks later, FCC filings confirmed that the device was real and that its launch could be really close. However, Sonos has now pretty much confirmed that the new Sub Mini subwoofer has been delayed even before its official announcement.

Smart speaker maker Sonos has accidentally shipped customers more than what they ordered, according The Verge. In addition to sending extra speakers, the company has charged for these products and wants them sent back. While Sonos is refunding the incorrect charges, customers want a discount for putting up with the inconvenience.

After hearing rumblings about the Sonos Sub Mini for some time, last month we got a look at the expected design from The Verge. Now FCC filings have confirmed the cylindrical form factor and could also hint at a launch happening soon.

Sonos just officially launched its most affordable soundbar to date with “Ray.” Now one of the company’s next products has been revealed which would serve as a good companion for the Ray and Beam soundbars. Here’s how the Sonos Sub Mini looks and when it might launch.

After being leaked back in April, Sonos has officially launched its new soundbar. The Ray comes as its most affordable home theater speaker priced at $279 and is more compact than the Beam or full-sized Arc. Sonos has also announced its own “Voice Control” service that will arrive next month to let users control Apple Music directly from Sonos speakers with built-in mics.

Forget Alexa and Google Assistant, as Sonos is preparing to announce its proprietary voice assistant that will be introduced within the next few weeks. It will let customers control music on the company’s home audio platform.

The next new product from Sonos may arrive as soon as early June. Thanks to renderings and details from The Verge, the upcoming speaker will be a budget soundbar priced below the Sonos Beam. However, it may have another use as Dolby Atmos surround speakers paired with Sonos’ flagship Arc soundbar.

Last month we saw Sonos launch an updated version of its Roam portable speaker and the company’s CEO also teased in an interview that it is “working on some really exciting stuff.” Now new open positions at Sonos are looking for help building a “Next Generation Sonos Home Theater OS” and more.

Last spring we saw Sonos jump into the ultra-portable speaker market with Roam. While it comes with a somewhat premium price, it packs some great features like AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and WiFi support, Qi charging, and a built-in mic. Now Sonos has launched the Roam SL at a lower price that skips the far-field microphone. Meanwhile, on the heels of a recent acquisition, Sonos’ CEO says the company is “working on some really exciting stuff.”

Ikea’s second-generation Symfonisk table lamp speakers have leaked online thanks to a Portuguese guide shop found by a Reddit user. The second-generation Symfonisk lamp is set to feature a new design that streamlines the speaker lamp’s base and adds the option to swap in different styles of lampshades (via the Verge).

A new portable speaker by Sonos, Sonos Roam, just leaked online. It will measure 6.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 inches, which is smaller than the company’s first portable speaker Sonos Move and similar to other speakers in the market, such as UE Boom and JBL Xtreme.
