T-Mobile is the 3rd largest U.S. wireless carrier behind Verizon and AT&T. Owned by German parent company, Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile has been using its “Uncarrier” marketing campaign to grow its market share since 2013.

With what seems like a good amount of success over the past few years, T-Mobile continues to announce new initiatives like discounted plans for seniors, Netflix included with service, and pushing competitors to bring back unlimited data plans.

As of April 29, 2018, T-Mobile has joined forces with Sprint and will now be re-branded to simply T-Mobile, with the Sprint brand completely going away.

Carriers offer free service in Hurricane Harvey area as they battle to keep networks up

Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon are all offering free service in areas hit by Hurricane Harvey as they describe the efforts they are making to keep networks up and running, while AT&T issues credits.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) says that across the entire region, 96% of cell sites are working, though only 5% of sites are operational in Rockport, Texas, near where the hurricane made landfall …

A new Reuters report today shares that SoftBank is willing to hand over control of Sprint to Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile to make a merger happen, according to unnamed sources close to the matter. Discussions haven’t begun yet, but are expected to start in April after the FCC auction of airwaves and anti-collusion ban is over.

With Verizon and AT&T both fighting to keep customers with new unlimited plans this week and 5G networks on the horizon, a merger could be mutually beneficial for Sprint and T-Mobile.

T-Mobile now includes fees & taxes in ONE pricing and introduces ‘Kickback’ program

T-Mobile’s CEO John Legere took the stage at CES 2017 today to share the latest Uncarrier news. T-Mobile has announced they are going “All in” on their T-Mobile ONE plans. This means starting on January 22, new customers will only be able to choose the ONE plan. Additionally, the carrier will be including all fees and taxes into the price of your T-Mobile ONE plan.

Known for pushing the envelope, as far as cellular carriers are concerned, T-Mobile has disclosed the details of its new program ‘DIGITS’ in an un-carrier announcement today. Certainly taking cues from Google Voice, the new Digits initiative aims to provide users with phone number flexibility and convenience, and includes multiple phone number solutions as well. The company is launching a limited free beta for T-Mobile customers (with post-paid accounts) starting today.

T-Mobile is warning iPhone customers not to update to iOS 10, the latest software version, after several customers have reported ‘connectivity issues’ caused by the update. The issue appears to be affecting iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone SE customers, according to the carrier, although it’s possible a wider group of iPhones including the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus could be as well.

All change with mobile plans: after AT&T upgrades, T-Mobile & Sprint go ‘unlimited’

T-Mobile Sprint

Following the modest upgrades AT&T announced to its mobile plans yesterday, both T-Mobile and Sprint have hit back with new ‘unlimited’ plans.

T-Mobile has replaced all its plans with a single one called T-Mobile One.

It’s 100% unlimited and comes with unlimited talk and text and unlimited 4G LTE smartphone data – including unlimited standard definition video – all on America’s fastest 4G LTE network.  And, it’s available at a great price: just $40 per line for a family of four.

As with all carrier plans, there are some caveats in the small-print …

T-Mobile now lets subscribers stream unlimited video content from Apple Music over cellular with Binge On

Last fall T-Mobile introduced its Binge On feature that allows subscribers to watch unlimited video from select services over their network, and today the carrier has expanded Binge On to include video content from Apple Music. This means T-Mobile customers can watch music videos or other video content through Apple Music without worrying about hitting a data cap. The carrier already supported unlimited audio streaming through Apple Music through its Music Freedom program.
