Apple has seeded the fifth iOS 9.1 beta for developers and public beta testers. The new beta includes various bug fixes and improvements … we’ll let you know if there’s anything drastically new. The new seed comes less than a week after beta 4 as Apple comes closer to a public launch of iOS 9.1.
iOS 9.1 includes new emojis, new wallpapers, developer support for Live Photos and iPad Pro / Apple Pencil compatibility, amongst several other changes.
Apple has followed this week’s release of OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 beta 2 to developers with a public version of the pre-release software. The second seed doesn’t include any notable changes, though it does come with the new emoji icons that were added in the first build.
Apple has released a public beta version of the upcoming OS X 10.11.1 update. The OS was first seeded to developers last week and includes a variety of new emoji icons, such as an eye roll and a taco. The popular middle finger emoji is also included.
iOS 9.0 may not yet be available to the public, but Apple is already seeding the next version of the mobile operating system to testers. Yesterday developers got their hands on the first version of iOS 9.1, and today the same has been made available for users on the public iOS beta.
To download the new build, which includes support for new emoji characters, users can head over to the Apple Beta website and enroll their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. After a reboot, iOS 9.1 should show up under the Software Update tab in the Settings app.
With iOS 9 set to release on September 16th, Apple has released the final beta build, the Golden Master, to developers. Along with this beta is an all new preview build of iOS 9.1. The exact changes in iOS 9.1 aren’t yet known, but we’ll keep this post updated with any changes we find in either build.
Apple has published a new beta build of the upcoming OS X 10.10.5 to developers. The third seed, which has a build number of 14F25a, comes just under a week after the previous build. The 10.10.5 update seems to be a simple stability and security fix, so there aren’t many new features to speak of.
Apple today has released the fourth developer preview of OS X 10.11 El Capitan. The operating system carries the build number 15A226f. Two weeks ago, the company pushed the third beta build to developers after initially introducing the operating system at WWDC last month. Beta 3 brought about a variety of minor changes, including changes to Mission Control, the Photos app, and the Calendar app.

A new report from BGR claims that Apple will release the second beta of iOS 9 today along with the GM build of iOS 8.4. The report says it’s possible Apple could bump back the new iOS 9 seed another week. Though two week intervals have basically been the standard for most betas, there have been exceptions in the past.
This isn’t the first time BGR has tried to predict iOS beta schedules, though some previous attempts have proven incorrect, so this one, while it seems likely based on the fact that we’re now two weeks out from WWDC, should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

Last week, Apple released the fifth OS X 10.10.4 beta, as well as the first beta of OS X 10.11 El Capitan. Today’s new OS X 10.10.4 beta carries the build number 14E36b and is available through the Mac App Store and Mac Developer Center.
In addition to releasing an updated build of iOS 8.4 beta today, Apple has seeded out a new build of OS X 10.10.4 to developers and public beta testers. The updated build is labeled 14E33b and highlights stability, compatibility, and security. Apple has been seeding builds of OS X 10.10.4 to testers since late April.
Apple also released the first beta preview of OS X 10.11 El Capitan at WWDC yesterday with new stability and performance improvements alongside improved window management features and an updated system font.
While most developers are probably already giving iOS 9 a test drive, Apple is still working on the upcoming iOS 8.4 update and just released a new version. iOS 8.4 build 12H4125a is now available on Apple’s developer center and as an OTA update for testers on the previous version. At WWDC earlier today, Apple revealed Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan with a handful of new features, including improvements to Safari, new Spotlight capabilities, side-by-side window functionality, performance improvements, and more. Apple released a developer beta of El Capitan today via its developer portal, while also noting that a public beta will come in July. We have learned this evening, however, that Apple has also seeded a beta version of El Capitan to retail employees for testing.

This is the fourth developer seed that has been released. It comes with a build number of 14E26a. The previous build was released on May 11th with a build number of 14E17e.

iOS 8.4’s Music application includes revamped search, the UpNext and MiniPlayer features from iTunes on the desktop, improved iTunes Radio functionality, a new Recently Added page, and more on top of the new design. On the iPad, there’s a new split-screen interface on the iPad, as seen in the screenshots below. On the iPhone, the landscape interface has been removed entirely. Apple has released a new beta version of OS X 10.10.2 to developers through the App Store’s software update mechanism and the Mac Developer Center. The update, which has a build number of 14C99d (compared to 14C94b in the previous release) is not yet available to AppleSeed users.
The 10.10.2 update will include fixes for common Wi-Fi problems, issues with the built-in Mail app, VoiceOver, and more. With only one week passing between pre-release builds, it seems the patch is getting closer to completion, and could be expected for public release soon.
