Instagram announced today that it will implement measures to prevent the spread of fake news about the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, in addition to highlighting useful information for prevention against the virus. The company said users in countries most affected by the coronavirus will see a disclaimer on the Instagram app with links from the World Health Organization.

It’s 2020 and Instagram still doesn’t have an iPad app — despite its barrage of other feature additions and expansions. Now, in a response to a user question this weekend, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri has explained why the company has yet to roll out an app for the iPad.

Instagram today announced another new feature for users who like to use Stories. The latest version of the app will allow each Story to be published with a collage of two or more photos using the “Layout” option. The feature has the same name as the separate app that Instagram itself offers to create posts with multiple photos in one.

Instagram CEO, Adam Mosseri, shared at the Wired25 conference this evening that the social media service will expand its test that hides like counts to the US next week for some users. This comes after testing started this summer in a handful of countries including Canada, Italy, Australia, and Brazil.

Instagram has officially launched a stand-alone messaging app today called Threads. The company describes it as a “camera-first messaging app” that will give users “a new way to message with close friends in a dedicated, private space.” Threads is a stand-alone app but it will integrate with a user’s Instagram Direct messages.
