Feature Request: A ‘Low Power Mode’ for macOS to extend MacBook battery life

Earlier today, we reported on evidence within the latest macOS 10.15.3 beta that suggests Apple is working on a “Pro Mode” feature to boost performance on portable Macs. This feature would essentially boost your Mac’s performance at the cost of things like battery life and fan noise.

While I’d love to see this feature come to macOS, something I’d also like to see in tandem with it is a Low Power Mode, focused on extending MacBook battery life.

PSA: Sidecar in macOS Catalina is not compatible with some older Macs and iPads

Apple has released macOS Catalina today with several new features, including Sidecar. Using a Mac with the latest operating system and an iPad with iPadOS 13, it’s now possible to turn the iPad into a second, fully interactive display. To interact with the Mac system through the iPad, however, users needs an Apple Pencil. And that has limited the functionality of the Sidecar feature for some iPad models.
