Today, Twitter announces it’s launching a new way for users to post their own GIFs by creating them with the in-app camera on iOS devices.

Twitter was heavily criticized when it switched from the chronological timeline to the new feed that shows suggested tweets instead. The social network then created an option so that users could always see recent tweets by default, but this is no longer the case. A new Twitter update no longer lets users access the chronological timeline by default.

Twitter has always been known for its character limit per tweet, which used to be 140 characters and then went up to 280 in 2017. However, it seems that the company has been exploring new ways to let users write longer texts with a new feature called “Twitter Articles.”

Twitter launched a while ago its Super Follows feature, which grants users the ability to subscribe to a creator’s page, interact, and watch exclusive content. Now, the company confirmed its plans to expand the benefits of being a super follower.

Twitter revealed in July 2021 that it was working on a new alternative timeline for “Trusted Friends” as a way to let users share tweets that only selected people can see. Although the feature is not yet available to everyone, the company has now rebranded it as Flock ahead of the official launch.
