Kickstarting a new podcast series — Visioneers: Developing for Vision

I recently asked developers making Apple Vision Pro apps to send me their work (with the subject line WHY YOU NEED VISION PRO), and the response has been excellent!

Hearing from developers and seeing their ideas for the first visionOS apps has lit a spark. I think there’s a larger story to tell here in the early days of Apple Vision Pro.

I believe podcasting is the best medium for discovering and telling that story. That’s why I’m launching my first-ever Kickstarter campaign to help create a new podcast series, Visioneers: Developing for Vision.

Viture One XR glasses could be my Vision Pro stand-in for now

Viture One XR glasses connected to an iPhone 15 Pro Max

I’ve previously said that much as Vision Pro looks insanely impressive, I’m still not expecting to hand over my cash before a third-gen device. If you’re of the same mind, then the $439 Viture One XR glasses might be worth a look.

To be clear, the company makes no claims to be competing with Vision Pro. Its glasses product are a very different beast, but do tick some of the same boxes – including the ability to view Spatial Video content shot on the iPhone 15 …

Apple’s “malicious compliance” with Europe’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) is burning bridges with the very people the company needs to make Vision Pro a success, argues a new editorial.

Prepare for Apple Vision Pro with these must-have accessories ready for launch

With the VisionPro finally set to release on February 2nd and people already have put their pre-orders in; my question is, what type of accessories will there be at launch? When Apple enters a new product category that usually means that a brand new accessory industry is born. The iPhone accessory market made roughly $32 billion in 2022 alone. So with the VisionPro incoming, that means there is an opportunity for brands and manufacturers to capitalize! Here are some of the accessories I am most excited about.

Vision Pro scalpers used bots to place thousands of pre-orders; face check no barrier

Vision Pro scalpers | Apple promo image of headset

A new report reveals that Vision Pro scalpers used bots to place thousands of pre-orders for the device, with eBay ads appearing even before pre-orders opened. eBay listings showed prices of up to $10,000.

Although placing a Vision Pro order requires both an Apple ID and a face measurement, a company which works to help companies block bot activity says that these bots were able to circumvent the face check …
