Music giant Universal Music Group has today announced a new “multi-year” licensing agreement with Facebook that will expand across the social company’s product line. Update: An Apple spokesperson has issued the following statement, saying an update is in the works:
“We are working on a software update to address this issue. In the meantime, setting a root password prevents unauthorized access to your Mac. To enable the Root User and set a password, please follow the instructions here. If a Root User is already enabled, to ensure a blank password is not set, please follow the instructions from the ‘Change the root password’ section.”
A newly discovered macOS High Sierra flaw is potentially leaving your personal data at risk. Developer Lemi Orhan Ergin publicly contacted Apple Support to ask about the vulnerability he discovered. In the vulnerability he found, someone with physical access to a macOS machine can access and change personal files on the system without needing any admin credentials.
Users who haven’t disabled guest user account access or changed their root passwords (likely most) are currently open to this vulnerability. We’ve included instructions on how to protect yourself in the meantime until an official fix from Apple is released.

When comparing Apple’s new iPhones side-by-side, the biggest difference that calls out to me is that beautiful iPhone X display. The bezel-less device fully immerses you in content, and compared to the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus’ bezels, it seems otherworldly.
I don’t know why I’d go for any other iPhone. By shrinking those bezels down, the iPhone X gains a significant display size increase, while remaining smaller than the iPhone 8 Plus. Outside of price, I can’t find a reason why I wouldn’t go for the iPhone X.
Apple’s iPhone X event has come and gone, but the company took to the stage at Steve Jobs Theater to introduce a slew of new technologies that will hit the consumer market later this year, and even some into the next. With three new iPhones available this fall, a new Apple Watch, and a 4K Apple TV, we just have to ask ourselves: what exactly will I be buying from Apple’s event this year?

Today’s announcement of the Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular support included details on how the device will function with wireless carrier plans. Apple mentioned that the phone number from the iPhone will remain the same and be usable on the Watch.
There is one obvious caveat though: to get the cellular functionality of your Watch, you may be required to pay an additional fee to your carrier. Only AT&T and Verizon have officially announced their price points as of today, but we’re expecting to learn more from other carriers soon.
