Apple Arcade will be available on September 19 for $4.99/month

Apple today announced that its Apple Arcade video game subscription service is launching later this month, alongside iOS 13. Arcade games span Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Mac. For mobile platforms, all titles are exclusive to Apple Arcade and not available through the regular App Store.

Apple is launching Apple Arcade on September 19, and it is priced at $4.99 per month. This includes up to six members in your family. You can try Apple Arcade with a one-month free trial.

After 1475 days of waiting, Apple unveils new Mac mini: quad-core, >32 GB RAM, all SSDs

Apple has just unveiled a new Mac mini at its October media event. In a space grey finish, every Mac mini now starts with quad-core CPU configurations. Apple will also offer six-core models for the first time. The new Mac mini can include up to 64 GB RAM, and all models feature solid state drives.

The Mac mini starts at $799, with various build-to-order upgrade options. Orders start today, with first deliveries from November 7.

iOS 12 GM coming later today, here are the release notes [Update: It’s out]

UPDATE: iOS 12 GM is now available for developers and public beta testers.

Apple is holding their special event at the Steve Jobs Theater today. Besides announcing a new Apple Watch and new iPhones, beta testers of iOS 12 are going to be getting the golden master build later today. This build is probably the final build of iOS 12 that’s going to ship to customers probably right before the new iPhones start shipping, unless there’s some serious issue with it.

Here’s how much the iPhone X will cost you with carrier financing

Apple today officially took the wraps off of its all-new iPhone X, and as we expected, it’s the company’s most expensive iPhone to date. At full price, the iPhone X costs $999 for 64GB and $1149 for 256GB.

Many carriers, however, have moved away from subsidized and outright pricing models, focusing instead installment programs. Needless to say, these programs make the price of the iPhone X slightly less intimidating…

AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile to support cellular Apple Watch Series 3

Update: AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have all announced $10/month plans with an initial three months of free service.

Today’s announcement of the Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular support included details on how the device will function with wireless carrier plans. Apple mentioned that the phone number from the iPhone will remain the same and be usable on the Watch.

There is one obvious caveat though: to get the cellular functionality of your Watch, you may be required to pay an additional fee to your carrier. Only AT&T and Verizon have officially announced their price points as of today, but we’re expecting to learn more from other carriers soon.
