Apple Stores: What makes them unique?

Beyond their award-winning architecture and landmark designs, Apple Stores are known for their focus on education and creativity. Over 250,000 free Today at Apple sessions were offered to the community each quarter prior to the pandemic. New stores are designed with a Video Wall and gathering area for Today at Apple known as the Forum. Older “classic” locations are being upgraded to accommodate the same experience.

Apple Store and office closures in China due to coronavirus to extend a few more days than first expected

We learned earlier this morning via an email to Apple employees affected by the store and office closures due to coronavirus that the re-opening date of February 10 would likely be pushed back. Now Apple has shared more details that the new plan is to open most stores and offices late next week (via Bloomberg).

Black Girl Fest Academy and Today at Apple help London students grow their communities

At Apple Regent Street in London, groups of young women are gathering together to equip themselves with creativity and confidence. These women are part of Black Girl Fest Academy, a new program developed in association with Today at Apple and supported by mayor of London Sadiq Khan. The academy kicked off in late January and runs for seven months.

Apple Stores in China unlikely to re-open on time

Apple Stores in China were closed on February 1st in response to the coronavirus, with the company stating that they would remain so through February 9. Store webpages say that they will re-open on Monday, but a memo to local staff from retail and people head Deidre O’Brien suggests this is now unlikely.

The Chinese government had suggested February 10 as the date on which businesses would resume operations, but it appears Apple may take a two-stage approach…

Apple closing all retail stores and offices in China through February 9 due to coronavirus

Apple announced this morning that it is closing all retail stores and corporate offices in mainland China as a precautionary measure due to current coronavirus situation.

In a statement to Bloomberg, Apple said its thoughts are with those affected and its decision to temporarily close stores is based on the latest advice from health experts.

Khalid joins Today at Apple for new Music Lab: Remix sessions

Today at Apple’s collaboration with top Apple Music artists is returning with new creative music events at Apple Stores across the world. The first for 2020 is a Music Lab: Remix session featuring Khalid.

Beginning January 29, Apple Store visitors can register to get hands-on with Khalid X Disclosure’s upcoming single “Know Your Worth,” and learn how to create their own remix using GarageBand on iPhone. Like all Today at Apple events, Music Lab: Remix Khalid is free to attend.
