Apple today announced its new 2017 iPhone lineup, at Apple Park. The company debuted three new flagship iPhones as well as adjusted pricing for the entire product range.

The new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are successors to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus — featuring glass backs, wireless charging and better cameras — whilst the iPhone X grabs headlines with a new ‘edge-to-edge’ 5.8-inch OLED screen and facial recognition unlock.

All three new iPhones come in at higher price points than any previous top-tier iPhone, but base storage has been bumped to 64 GB to compensate. Compare all the prices, specs and availability details after the jump …

Siri Remote for Apple TV updated with new Menu button and price

[UPDATE: The new Menu button appears to just be the white ring and not a flat button. Hard to tell from the photos, but Apple describes it that way online. It also captures motion data for attitude and rotation rate.]

Apple announced the new Apple TV 4K at its big event today, and the Siri Remote has received an update as well. The first change is a new Menu button that appears to be a part of the touch surface. This could improve the user experience by providing a bit of asymmetry, but it’s a subtle change so we’ll have to wait and see.

iPhone X offered in Space Gray and Silver only, no gold color option

Whilst the iPhone 8 has a new gold finish, the $999 Apple iPhone X is only being offered in two colors … when it ships on November 3rd. Fans of gold or rose gold will be disappointed as the new ‘futuristic’ flagship iPhone is only sold in Space Gray and Silver finishes.

Until today, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus had a plethora of color options (six total). The new iPhone X cuts that down to just two.

tvOS 11 and watchOS 4 GM now available to developers

Apple has officially released the GM build of its watchOS 4 and tvOS 11 to developers and public beta testers. watchOS 4 brings new watch faces including Siri and Toy Story options, enhanced Music and Workout experiences, Apple News, and more. tvOS 11 brings Home screen sync, automatic dark and light mode, full AirPods support, and AirPlay 2.

Apple announces glass-backed iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus w/ A11 Bionic chip, 4K 60 fps video, calibrated for AR, wireless charging

Apple has officially announced (at least) two new iPhones: iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Both the front and back are now glass, and the band is still aluminum. Silver, space gray, and a “beautiful new gold finish” are available color options. RIP matte black, jet black, and rose gold.

Both iPhones have a new Retina HD display and improved water resistance. Both new iPhones feature True Tone display like the iPad Pro lineup for white image balancing.

iTunes will sell 4K movies and TV shows for the same price as HD, upgrade existing purchases for free

Apple has announced that iTunes will add 4K movies and TV shows to its extensive library of rentable and purchasable video content, to coincide with the launch of the new Apple TV 4K.
Apple will sell the new content at the same price as the HD versions, and automatically upgrade existing purchases to 4K for free.
