I’ve been a Plex customer since 2014, but I had been searching for an app that would allow me to have more flexibility and offer 2x playback when I had something that I wanted to speed up. I ran across Infuse 6, and it checked all the boxes for a robust Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad video playback app. Now with Infuse 7, the Mac app makes its debut.

Microsoft Teams Mac performance

Microsoft Teams for macOS now supports system audio sharing; native notifications coming soon

Following a recent update that brought performance improvements to the app, Microsoft Teams for macOS has once again been updated — this time with support for sharing system audio with others. At the same time, Microsoft confirmed that a future update will enable native notifications in the macOS version of the app.

Apple reminds developers to update their apps for AppTrackingTransparency and iOS 14.5

Following this morning’s Tim Cook interview with Kara Swisher that focused on privacy, Apple has reminded developers to update their apps with the new AppTrackingTransparency framework before the release of iOS 14.5. AppTrackingTransparency, or ATT, is a new tool Apple is introducing to protect users’ data and prevent unwanted apps from tracking you across other websites and apps.

SPIN Safe releases new K-12 focused browser for iOS with Jamf integration for on-device filtering

One of the challenges that schools face with iOS is web filtering. There are multiple ways to filter web traffic for inappropriate content, but many of them require IT expertise that smaller schools might not have. Apple includes a web filter with iOS that can be controlled by a mobile device management system, but it’s a black box in terms of what’s blocked vs. what’s not. SPIN Safe Browser is now available as a “school edition” with no in-app purchases and controllable AppConfig from Jamf.
