It’s been a long time since the first rumors about Sonos, a company known for its speakers, working on headphones. These rumors have become more frequent over the last few months, and now we finally have confirmation of those rumors – sort of. That’s because images of the new Sonos Ace wireless headphones have just leaked online.

Apple will hold a special event on May 7. Although the company doesn’t usually discuss the topics of the event, the invitation artwork makes it clear that it will be all about iPad – as we can see an Apple Pencil in it. After Apple CEO Tim Cook hinted at a new Pencil coming tomorrow, Apple’s website also leaked the name “Apple Pencil Pro,” adding more fuel to the fire.

We’re less than a day away from Apple unveiling the first updates to the iPad line since 2022. In other words, there are only a few more hours left to speculate about new iPads! That made me think of something that I’ve been meaning to write about — and have been regularly writing on — for a few months. And no, it’s not an iPad.

Last week, Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius made it clear that the automaker has no plans to support Apple’s next-generation CarPlay platform.

In a new interview with The Verge, Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath took a different approach and said that he would be open to giving Apple control over all the screens in a Polestar car.

Apple’s MagSafe wallet is generally the default option for most people looking for a way to store an identification card, credit card, and more. While it’s Find My integration is great, that does mean its double the cost of a lot of the MagSafe wallets from other vendors. Today in a subscriber-only post, analyst Ross Young reported that he and his team have heard rumblings about a new iPhone display size being introduced with 2025’s iPhone 17 lineup.

This new display size would take the spot of the current iPhone Plus model, continuing to offer a larger iPhone option at a more affordable price. However, in a surprising move, this reported new size will take the iPhone Plus in a direction that will likely be unexpected by many.

Last week at the White House Correspondents Dinner, SNL’s Colin Jost joked about how The New York Times—the country’s most successful news publication—was only kept alive by Wordle and other puzzle games. The Times didn’t appreciate the remark.

Tomorrow, Apple will hold its first event of the year where it is expected to unveil a new generation of iPad Pro, iPad Air, and accompanying new Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard accessories.

The Apple website may have just given us a bit more insight into what to expect. In the Japanese Apple.com source code, the homepage banner for the event describes the logo’s header image as a creator holding a “Apple Pencil Pro”. The discovery was first spotted by ribu_ap712 on X.

The Apple.com homepage has been updated with a last-minute teaser to celebrate the upcoming Apple event, which kicks off tomorrow at 7 AM PT. Apple is expected to announce a new lineup of iPad Pro and iPad Air.

The new teaser at the top of the page cycles between the various illustrations of Apple logo, with a twist that you can erase the art with your mouse pointer on Mac, or finger on your iPhone’s touchscreen. When the logo is fully erased, a new variant animates in.

Apple is ramping up its work on foldable devices, according to a new investor note seen by 9to5Mac. The report, from Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, says that Apple will begin mass production of a 20.3-inch foldable device in late 2025, followed by a foldable iPhone in late 2026.

On Tuesday, May 7, Apple will hold its first product event of the year, ‘Let Loose’. The company is set to introduce new lineup of iPad Pro and iPad Air. The iPad Pro tablets will get OLED displays, a new thinner chassis, and run on the M4 chip. The iPad Air will be updated with the M2 chip, and be offered in a new larger 12.9-inch display size for the first time.

As reported today by Mark Gurman, Apple is set to announce all of this in a brisk video presentation running about 35 minutes in length. This is similar to the runtime of the October ‘Spooky Fast’ event.
