ESPN fires 100 on-air personalities, will focus on apps w/ more live news & video streaming features

ESPN has announced some upcoming changes for the network today, including informing employees that 100 on-air talent positions will be cut as the company refocuses its content strategy. DoubleTwist for Android restores AirPlay audio streaming to Apple TV following tvOS 10.2 update

Apple’s recent tvOS 10.2 software update broke AirPlay streaming for third-party utilities like AirFoil and Doubletwist by requiring hardware verification. Now DoubleTwist is out with an update for its Android app that includes a workaround and restores audio streaming over AirPlay to Apple TV.

Sky Guide astronomy app gains new cinematic tours, 50x larger catalog, more

Sky Guide for iOS is out with a new update that includes three new features including cinematic tours of the galaxy. The new version brings an add-on called Supermassive that includes high definition zoom, 50x larger catalogs, and an exclusive audiovisual series.

The new astronomy features will require an annual subscription to access, but users can update and access a free two-week trial of the Supermassive features starting today. Sky Guide has also added other new updates including upcoming comets that you can spot from Earth and the Chinese space laboratory Tiangong-2.
